Gerry Poe Joins FirstService Residential as President of Austin Market
FirstService Residential, the premier residential property management company in Texas, announced that Gerry Poe has joined the organization as president of the Austin market. Poe will lead market operations and be responsible for overall community association management growth and development of local industry partnerships.
“Gerry is an accomplished and established leader in Austin residential development circles and was integral in realizing several notable new construction communities we manage such as Mason Hills, La Conterra and Brentwood Villas,” said Cindy Huey, regional president for FirstService Residential in Texas. “His in-depth knowledge working with local municipalities and creating appealing communities will strengthen our efforts to build on the tremendous growth we’ve experienced with our Central Texas portfolio.”
Poe comes to FirstService Residential from KB Home where he led government and public affairs and was responsible for directing the organization’s policies and objectives as it pertains to municipality management. Through the strategic development of key relationships and identification of opportunities for process improvement, Poe was successful in supporting valuable land negotiations and local permitting enhancements.
Poe succeeds founders Bonnie Carlisle and Kevin Carlisle, who started the business in 2004 and joined with FirstService Residential in 2015.
“In FirstService Residential we found a partner that shared our passion and commitment to deliver exceptional services to residents and enhance the quality of living in our communities,” said Bonnie Carlisle. “When you put your heart into a business, you want to know that you’re leaving it in good hands. We have enjoyed much success growing the business over the years, and knowing that Gerry values the strong relationships we’ve built with developers, builders, industry partners and homeowners makes it easy for us to take our lives in a new direction and enjoy other pursuits.”
FirstService Residential in Austin currently manages over 130 communities in Austin, San Antonio and the Coastal Texas areas. The company is noted for its partnership with award-winning communities such as Rough Hollow and Tuscan Village, as well as its ongoing local community outreach efforts.
