[September 15, 2020] – FirstService Residential and FirstService Energy are pleased to announce that GlobeSt. has honored Vice President Kelly Dougherty with the 2020 ‘ELITE Women of Influence’ Award. This honor recognizes Dougherty’s measurable success in identifying and implementing Energy Conservation Measures (ECMs) for FirstService Residential’s managed properties across the United States, which has resulted in a dramatic reduction in carbon emissions and energy costs for the company’s clients.

Since joining FirstService Energy in 2016 as Director of Energy Management, Dougherty has secured millions of dollars in incentives and grants from the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) for FirstService Residential clients.

As a LEED Green Associate, Dougherty has helped FirstService Residential’s portfolio of managed properties significantly reduce their carbon footprint, which has also resulted in millions of dollars in annual energy cost savings. Dougherty also works with industry leaders and government agencies to keep FirstService Residential clients informed on the latest technologies, incentive programs and regulatory requirements, including New York City’s Climate Mobilization Act.

Dougherty has been featured in leading industry publications including The New York Times, where she frequently provides insight on energy-related issues and legislation. Within FirstService Residential, Dougherty is recognized as an asset for her extensive industry knowledge, strategic leadership and industry relationships, which have contributed to the continued success of FirstService Energy.

Founded in 1983, the GlobeSt. Women of Influence Awards recognize industry leaders who have made a distinct mark in real estate and development.

In addition to this most recent accolade, Dougherty has developed successful relationships with the New York City Mayor’s Office and other government agencies to present training seminars, expert panels, and legislative updates to FirstService Residential clients – including building owners, developers, board members – and the company’s property managers and building staff, with the goal of promoting sustainable building technologies that will reduce carbon emissions and energy costs.
