Community One Associates Changes Name to FirstService Residential
Name Change Part of North American Rebranding Effort Highlighting National Reach and Personalized Local Service
NASHVILLE, TN (June 27, 2013) – The corporate headquarters of FirstService Residential has announced that its subsidiary, Community One Associates, has been renamed FirstService Residential. This name change is part of FirstService Residential’s national rebranding effort, which took effect on June 27, 2013.
FirstService Residential is the largest manager of residential communities in North America, overseeing more than 6,000 properties and over 1.5 million residential units.
The former Community One Associates, an established leader in the Tennessee residential property management market, manages a client portfolio of more than 130 communities. It became a subsidiary of FirstService Residential in 2009.
“Now, as always, FirstService Residential continues to share our mission to manage our communities and properties to the highest standards of service, and supports us as we work together to enhance the value and quality of life for every resident and community we serve,” said Matt Phillips, formerly CEO of Community One Associates and now president of FirstService Residential Tennessee.

Phillips also noted that the rebranding to FirstService Residential signifies a change in company name only, and all day-to-day operations will remain “business as usual.” Current property management teams will remain in place to service their existing customers, with added benefits gained from access to an expanded core of resources, combined purchasing power and shared expertise and best practices.
