FirstService Residential Houston Celebrates 35th Anniversary
On June 19, 2014, FirstService Residential celebrated 35 years of business in Houston. Originally known as Association Management, Inc. (AMI), the company as co-founded in 1979 by Glenda and David Regenbaum, who are originally from South Africa. What started out as a two person office has grown to a company with 165 direct and 340 on-site employees serving nearly 300 communities. In 2010, AMI joined FirstService Residential, the largest property management company in North America. In 2013, AMI officially changed its name to FirstService Residential.
FirstService Residential provides a full range of professional community management services to associations throughout the Houston area, while setting a new standard for exemplary service. Over the past 35 years, AMI/FirstService Residential achieved remarkable growth and prestige under the leadership of the Regenbaums, and it has grown to become the leading community association management firm in Houston. Many of the innovative management philosophies and practices the company developed have become industry standards.
In addition to their work in community management, the Regenbaums believe in giving back to the community. They have led fundraising efforts for the City of Houston’s Back to School Festival, the Houston Community College Scholarship Fund, Elves & More Bicycle Build Program and other local organizations.
FirstService Residential commemorated the anniversary with a luncheon for associates. The Honorable Anise Parker, Mayor of the City of Houston also made a special appearance and honored the Regenbaums and FirstService Residential for their contributions to the City of Houston.
“I’m always happy to salute Houston businesses that grow and thrive. They and the company have supported an initiative that is very important, not just to me, but young people all across the City of Houston and that is our Back to School Fest” stated Mayor Parker. Mayor Parker presented the Regenbaums with a proclamation, “The City of Houston commends David and Glenda Regenbaum for contributing to our city’s economic vitality and extends best wishes for a memorable anniversary.”
