Philadelphia, PA, March 2014 – FirstService Residential, the leading property management company in Pennsylvania, hosted another educational roundtable focused on high-rise management best practice sharing. This was the second Philadelphia educational best practice sharing session held in series of events that will continue.

The interactive three hour session was attended by board members from numerous high rise communities in Philadelphia and several FirstService Residential executives and community managers. Board members represented communities currently managed by FirstService Residential as well as properties currently managed by other firms, or self-managed. The informative session was moderated by FirstService Residential Mid-Atlantic Senior Vice President of High-Rise, Arthur Bartikofsky.

The session was held at the well-known Rittenhouse Hotel in center city, Philadelphia. The agenda was developed based on feedback from attendees. Topics included the importance of standard operating procedures custom to each high-rise building covering routine functions such as preventative maintenance, front desk and guest management, and purchasing as well as emergency related procedures for fire, flood, and severe weather; the pros and cons of live-in/24 hour maintenance staff; and the training and supervision required to raise staff service levels.

"The roundtable was terrific! Our properties are all different, but the issues are similar,” said Wendy H. Meyer, Treasurer of Rittenhouse Condominium Owners Association. "Thank you for the opportunity to talk informally with others who serve on boards and manage residential buildings was enjoyable and informative."

"We are excited to see that our Philadelphia roundtables are successfully creating a forum where volunteer Board Members from high rise buildings throughout Philadelphia can be educated through a process of collaboration with their counterparts in the neighborhood," said Arthur Bartikofsky, FirstService Residential Mid-Atlantic Senior Vice President of High-Rise. "It is inspiring to experience the energy, excitement, and enthusiasm of the Board Members. The resulting dialogue and the open sharing of best practices demonstrate how much value these roundtables offer to the Board Members who participate."

The FirstService Residential educational best practice sharing roundtable series has been successfully held across the region including Malvern, Pennsylvania; Hudson County, New Jersey; Bergen County, New Jersey; Baltimore, Maryland; Arlington, Virginia, and Charlotte, North Carolina. Upcoming scheduled events include additional sessions in Philadelphia, the Delaware Valley, New Jersey, Maryland, the DC Metropolitan area, Charlotte, North Carolina and a new session in Charleston, South Carolina.
