FirstService Residential Relocates to State-of-the-Art Office in Mississauga
TORONTO (June 28, 2016) – FirstService Residential, the leading property management provider in Ontario, relocated its headquarters to a new office space in Mississauga at 2645 Skymark Avenue. With over 18,000 square feet of space and centrally situated to serve a customer base of over 375 condominium properties in the Greater Toronto Area, it’s the new home to 900 office and field associates.
“As our business has grown over the years it became evident that we needed to relocate our headquarters to accommodate the expansion and to find the best solution for our associates,” said Todd Cooper, FirstService Residential president in Ontario. “This move has addressed the needs of our associates by providing a more comfortable and collaborative work space with the latest in open concept design and innovation. Our associates were very much involved throughout the planning process and there is a great sense of pride and ownership about our new home.”
According to Roger Thompson, executive vice president, a key consideration was the ability to support the company’s growing demand for both associate and Board Member education offered through its Centre of Service Excellence. “Our industry is becoming more complex every day. We believe it takes a team of experts behind the scenes, armed with a depth of resources to provide associates with the training and support required to provide exceptional service to the communities we manage.” Thompson added that 1,700 hours of live and on-line training was delivered in 2015 and it’s expected that number will double in 2016. The curriculum ranges in topics from leadership and finance to a specialized Property Management and administration program.
“Many of our associates have progressed through the company into positions of increasing responsibility in community management,” said Cooper. “We take great pride in the fact that we have above average associate retention in the industry and that our condominium communities are managed by highly experienced and committed teams.”
The Skymark Avenue office has convenient access to the 401, 410 and 427 highways, the Toronto Pearson International Airport and steps to the new rapid transit line connecting Toronto and Mississauga. The interior office space provides energy efficient open space design, natural light along with multiple conference rooms and a 120-person capacity training room.
