Summer of Service in Full Swing at FirstService Residential

FirstService Residential New York associates have been performing random acts of kindness and volunteering across our communities and neighborhoods in support of the company’s Summer of Service.

In May, FirstService Residential associates raised $13,000 by walking at 2024 NAMIWalks NYC, the nation’s largest mental health event. More than 50 FirstService associates, along with their family and friends, joined the event.

The non-profit charity event supports mental health programming, awareness, and advocacy for New Yorkers in need. Thank you to every associate who participated in the walk or donated to the organization.

In August, FS Insurance Brokers hosted a team-building event where associates got to know each other while writing thank-you cards to other FirstService team members.

More than a dozen letters were written and delivered by the team to associates who have made a difference in their workplace and communities. They also used this time to brainstorm their next Summer of Service project, and have already planned their next event.

Most recently, FirstService teams headed to the Salvation Army in Harlem to support Packing Backpacks for NYC Students. Organized through New York Cares, the teams filled hundreds of backpacks with school supplies for students in need in New York City.

Associates also packed backpacks with school supplies at Friends of Karen, which provides emotional, financial, and advocacy support for children with a life-threatening illness and their families.

This fall, FirstService associates will volunteer their time to two large-scale projects organized by New York Cares: revitalizing a rooftop garden with NYC Parks and restoring a local community center.
